Spring has sprung

2nd Apr 2015

Well it has, almost. The last few days have been a bit cold and windy but maybe that’s the last bite of winter, reluctant to go without a fuss. Let’s face it, the winter has been better than they thought.

I know it’s Spring because we’re spending like crazy. A bit like the birds starting to get their nests together, we’re maintaining our nest, Linthwaite.

For a start, there’s the new Summer House, out with the old in with the new! John our maintenance chap has a busy time ahead with soffits and gables that need painting when the weather’s dry. Colin is putting the finishing touches to the pergola, and we’ve ordered some pretty lighting for it.

There are new plant tubs coming. There’s the petanque rink of course. (Boules are available at reception). Some bedroom doors have been lengthened, finally, after 25 years of being too short. Some windows that are being repaired. There’s new gravel coming for the drive. R8 is getting a makeover with a new bed settee, TV’s, fridge and more. New beds are on the way for rooms 29 and 30. More radiators for R26 and R27. There’s a plate rack due to arrive in the Mirror Room.

The list is endless of course because there is always something new being added.

Most of this you won’t even notice.

But you’d notice if we didn’t do it of course.
